Common Ground Music Festival teams with Fusion Shows to bring you LIGHTS, WALK OFF THE EARTH, and IAMDYNAMITE!
A few months ago, we decided that we wanted to look for Fusion Shows office space in Lansing. 3 of our 4 daily office folks live in the Lansing area now, and I personally don’t mind the drive to and from Howell each day (to get my mind off of work and ready to be a husband).
We were lucky enough to meet Kevin at Meridian Concerts. He had some space in his beautiful Victorian office building in Old Town, and we moved in immediately. If you’re not familiar with Meridian, you should be! They produce great festivals throughout the state and country, including Common Ground Music Festival, the Cherry Festival in Traverse City, and Rock The Rapids in Grand Rapids.
Kevin and Jennifer are both great, great allies, and great people to boot. We co-presented Here Come The Mummies on May 3, one of our most memorable shows ever.
And Kevin gave me a little bit of a leash to buy some talent for Common Ground this year. We sent some crazy offers to bands that I never dreamed Fusion would be able to work with at this point, and a lot of those didn’t work out. But we did land the following 3 acts:
LIGHTS: As a follow-up to her sold out April appearance at the Loft, one of the hottest pop stars on the planet returns to play Common Ground on Friday, July 13!
WALK OFF THE EARTH: You’ve seen the YouTube video that they’re known for. All 5 members, playing “Somebody I Used To Know” by Gotye, on one guitar. It’s gotten over 100,000,000 plays. They also have an incredible new album coming out, and this will be their first appearance in Michigan!
IAMDYNAMITE: Their single, “Stereo”, is one of the top 10 songs played at the Edge this year. There are big things happening for this band, and we’re excited to continue to build a relationship with them. They’ll open the main stage of the festival on the first night, supporting Bush.
I’m personally excited for the diversity that the Common Ground lineup provides this year. Eric Church is one of the biggest country artists in the world right now. Three Days Grace is going to be nuts. And so much 90’s alternative! I’m a child of the 90s, so the fact that I get to see The Wallflowers, Bush, Candlebox, Soul Asylum, and Sister Hazel at the same festival blows my mind!
To celebrate the announcement of Friday night’s lineup (The Wallflowers, Soul Asylum, Lights, Walk Off The Earth), tickets for Friday night are just $15.00 TODAY ONLY until 9pm, and Fusion Shows has the special pre-sale link for you!

We’re really proud and excited to be a part of Common Ground this year. You’ll see a lot of the Fusion team working at merch and the box office, and elsewhere throughout the festival. And I think you’ll see more and more of our influence over the coming years!
We really do #lovelansing. We hope to see you July 9 through 15 at Adado Riverfront Park, singing along!
