Hey guys, what kind of state do you think the local Livingston music scene is in? Are you guys excited for it's future?

Livingston County’s in this weird spot right now.  I think we’re coming up on an exciting time.  It’s just gonna take some work to get there.  Up until the past six months, there weren’t very many new bands.  Now, you see brand new bands like Invader, The Shack, To Kill A Mockingbird, Apprehension, and a few others joining the veterans like Giraffe Attack, Apathetic Critic, Endeavors, Good Weather For Airstrikes, and more.

We’re pretty excited for what we’re going to be able to do in the upcoming months.  With reunions coming up from Tips and Fuller, along with exciting annual shows like Chris Nance’s memorial show, and the Nature Center acoustic show, we feel like December will be an incredible springboard for Livingston County music.

There seems to be a general consensus that everyone likes the new venue that Great Escape has allowed us to use.  It allows us to put on a little bit more affordable shows that the more-expensive Opera House can’t.

We’ll probably do a PAC show or two in January/February too, and start rebuilding.  We need help though!  We mainly need people to get NOISY about these shows.  There used to be a legion of high school kids that would flyer their high schools for the shows.  Now, I feel like a lot of bands believe that promotion is making a Facebook event (not even inviting people to it), and maybe posting a few times on Twitter/Facebook.  You gotta HUSTLE to get people to come to shows.  Don’t just tell the people you know.  The key is to reach the people you don’t know!

There’s a lot of people that want to help, and it’s our hope that the big shows in December lead to a lot of excitement from the younger kids in the area, which will lead to a promising future in the area.
