Mae
I just have to give credit where credit is due on this wonderfully sunny Wednesday afternoon. Last night, we hosted Mae’s final Michigan show. We were actually pretty sadly disappointed at the turnout, but the 270-some folks in attendance were treated with a 100 minute set of songs from throughout Mae’s 8 year career.
It so inspiring to hang out with a band like Mae, who’s been dealt every possible bad hand in their career. Between having vehicles stolen, gear stolen, recording problems, label issues, and just having it rough overall, Mae has kept their head up. They responded to their most trying times by donating a ton of money to Habitat for Humanity to build homes for those less fortunate.
I just want people to know that though the members of Mae will not be able to live richly off of the millions of dollars they made through their career, they absolutely left a legacy that cannot be denied.
Last night was bittersweet, but mostly sweet, because the members of Mae were so excited about what’s coming in their futures. Goodbye and goodnight, Mae, you will be missed.
